Michael Walker
In Alexander City, Alabama on April 6, 1966, God blessed Robert and Lola Walker, two God-fearing parents, with a precious gift-MICHAEL WALKER. He is the fourth of five children. Although Michael was born in Alexander City, Alabama, he was raised in rural Cottage Grove, Alabama where his parents took him to church every Sunday at Peace & Goodwill Baptist Church. While attending church there, he began singing in the youth choir. As a youngster, Michael would make up songs and sing them to his mother. Realizing his interest in music, she bought him a saxophone at age 12. Michael began playing in the local school band and started developing his musical talent. At age 13, he commenced at playing piano. He played each instrument for approximately three years and quit fearing that people would laugh at him if he played a wrong note at recitals. As an excuse to quit the music path his life was taking, Michael ventured into playing football and basketball in high school. |

After high school, Michael enrolled in Jacksonville State University (JSU) in Jacksonville, Alabama. He majored in Technology and obtained a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electronics Technology in 1990. However, during his second semester as a freshman there, Michael gave his life to Jesus Christ!!! He began attending Faith Outreach Campus Ministry and joined the JSU Choir. Since his desire to play instruments had begun to rekindle, he began practicing his saxophone again. The practicing refined his gift and he started playing for the Faith Outreach Campus Ministry. Being filled with and led by the Holy Ghost in 1987, Michael commenced to witnessing to students and leading them to Christ. He then embarked upon teaching Bible Study in his residence hall. Many students came to know Christ and were delivered through his simplistic teaching methodology.
On April 6, 1991, Michael's 25th birthday, he bought a keyboard and began practicing and writing songs. That same year, Michael began preaching and teaching the Word of God on the radio. As a result of his calling, Michael became a licensed minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ in November 1993. God continued to enhance his musical gifts and in 1994, he became the Minister of Music at Faith Outreach Ministries (FOM) in Anniston, Alabama. Michael instituted "Gospel Explosion" a yearly musical in which he would invite numerous choirs, groups, and soloists from the region to experience a marvel of high praise unto our God.
Michael served as keyboardist for the local Promise Keepers team in 1995, and further expanded his musical talent to include recording with the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship Mass Choir on the "Bow Down & Worship Him" project in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1997. It didn't stop there. Later, Michael went on to open for the harmonious female contemporary gospel group Virtue at Talladega College, in Talladega, Alabama.
Currently, Michael is the Chief Executive Officer and owner of N.A.A.N. (Name Above All Names) Productions, a gospel music business that provides recording, publishing, concerts, workshops, and demos for the public. How befitting that his debut project, a phenomenal worship and praise CD, entitled "What Do You See?" would be released through his own N.A.A.N. Productions. This awesome project is quickly becoming the talk of radio stations locally, regionally, and very soon worldwide!!!
Michael is married to the love of his life, Angela (Woodard) Walker, who is undoubtedly his number one supporter. She also serves as Co-Owner of N.A.A.N. Productions.
I'd love to hear from you!
